Berbagai macam virus yang marak akhir-akhir ini sebagian besar menyebar melalui perantara flashdisk, ketika kita memasukkan flashdisk ke komputer kita maka secara default windows Xp akan langsung membuka task baru dengan fungsi Auto run/auto play.
Menghilangkan fungsi Auto Run/ Auto Play :
- run “gpedit.msc”
- klik Administrative Templates di bawah Computer Configuration
- klik System
- klik Turn Off Auto Play
- pilih Enabled
- kebawah pilih All Drive
- OK
- masih di Group Policy
- klik Administrative Templates di bawah User Configuration - klik System
- klik Turn Off Auto Play
- pilih Enabled
- kebawah pilih All Drive
- OK
- tutup,restart
Cara lain yang cukup efektif antara lain adalah dengan mengaktifkan user Guest dan selalu login dengan user guest tersebut. Dengan user Guest maka secara tidak langsung kita akan mematikan fungsi registry. Virus akan selalu manginfeksi file registry ini dan merubah value di dalamnya. Bila ingin menginstall software baru maka kita cukup menggunakan “Run As” Administrator dari user guest. Dan yang terakhir adalah selalu mengupdate anti virus secara rutin.
